Where is the best place to go for charity shops in CENTRAL London?

  • I want to have a day out rummaging round the charity shops in central London. Can anyone tell me the best area - where there are lot of shops all in one street for example. I'm particularly interested in funky retro stuff, don't know whether there is a special area for that? But all shops are of interest. Thanks

There is a good Oxfam on Baker street. If you are looking for retro stuff the retro shops might be best. They have some great deals-especially in the sales. There are so many around covent garden-rockit,wow retro and a few others. Also a new place just opened up behind Carnaby street opposite the back of marks and spensers.

If you're looking for vintage/retro shops the there's a massive one just off Oxford Street called Beyond Retro. They have great vintage clothes, bags, shoes etc.. :) If you get off at Oxford Circus and then walk the opposite way to Bond Street station, and then take a right onto Poland Street. Keep walking and you'll see it opposite you. If you're looking for loads of shops then just go to the top of Brick Lane. There are loads of shops down there selling vintage/second hand clothes/bags.. etc. hope that helps :)

There's one up towards the top end (Holborn end) of Drury Lane, although I don't remember exactly what it is. I don't really know any others in central London.

There are a couple of them on Marylebone High Street. They tend to have high value and designer stuff (due to the local residents!)
