Can you tell me about moving to London?

I'm moving to London in a little over a year, can anyone tell me what it's like to live there?

    Ok here goes.......Accommodation wise - it will seem expensive (and it is) but you can get places reall cheap if ur not too fussy about where you live. Otherwise you pay for the location. There arent any "ghettos" so its just about personal preferences (eg I like paying more and being somewhere with a common, lots of transport links and good bars and clubs). Would reccomend making sure youre close to a tube station tho. There is always plenty to see and do, theres no excuse to spend ur time at home. Its very easy to get about, the tube is easy to use altho for a while Id use the buses cos then you see more and its easy to orientate yourself. Dont fret about the weather - sure it can be wet and cold but in the summer its sunny and hot (you appreciate it more). AS soon as its warm everyones oustside enjoying the sun - London in the summer is the best! Its great city cos its so close to the countryside, the coast and to europe. It is a vibrant city. When I moved to London after New Zealand it has been very good to me. There is lots to see, many nice restaurants, activities to suit everyone's taste, great holiday destinations originating from London. For those who want to make some money there are many jobs. If you already have a job but want some extra, you can always pick up additional work. Until you learn how to get around especially using the subway it can be a little confusing! Many times I ended up on the wrong train or went South instead of North. But keep your chin up, if you make a mistake take your time to see if there is a message for it to happen! Good luck!

it is expensive,small apt's big rent.to many tourist's and everyone is rush,rush.find somewhere outside to live and just commute into the city.

It's a lovely place in Summer. Sure all cities have their bad points but it is alot safer than many many cities I have been to around Europe. It is quite expensive but no moreso than Paris. Be aware that you should arrange accomodation before getting here so you know you have somewhere to stay. Ignore all the negative comments and decide for yourself if you like it here.
