How much should I budget for a trip to London?

How much money should I budget for a nice trip to London?

  • I was planning on spending about 3-4 weeks on vacation in London this summer. How much money should I budget for the trip? I am in the US.

  • Answer:

Litterally as much as you can. What are you interested in for a start? Madame tussauds is a great place if you like celebrities and wax work models. Quite pricey though. OR the London eye is nice on a good day but I personally think it is over rated but I'm typically British and am never pleased with anything. so will need about £60 for the eye itself. The science and history museum are free so if you are on a budget they are really interesting. Other than that, there are Oxford and Regent street, the two main shopping streets in central london, so obviously you choose how much you want to spend there. And as for transport you can get travel passes which take you all round london on any tube or any bus for £6 a day. However it is worth enquiring as train there are always deals. It is incredibly difficult to estimate how much money you should bring, basically as much as you can, simply because there is so much stuf to do and so many little souvineers for tourists. Stick to central London though, thats where all the cool stuff is.

Hiya, 3 - 4 weeks WOW. I'd say a couple of grand, there are SO many shops and eating out can be pricey (unless u head to somewhere generic like Mcdonalds or a chain of places to eat) When you do get to London, Buy a tube pass (A day for zones 1-2 - which are the tourist areas) is £5.30 and you can jump on as many times as you want in these areas. As for attractions, go to the train station and pick up a 2-4-1 booklet, You can get 241 on everything (just about!) bar the london eye, Like London Aquarium, we went the other week its about £14.00 a ticket, so we got 2 for 1 on that, madame tussards etc, there are also offerers for hotels/places to eat in the evening etc. I went on the london eye a month ago, I was really disappointed, took some good pictures but it was all a little too fast. I wold suggest pre-booking on their website, as you get 10% off. It cost £30.40 for 2 of us (That included having the tickets to delivered to us at home) XXXX

Hun in London is in the UK right. There money is worth more than ours. There money is called pound. If you have 12,000 dollars your only gonna have 6,000 dollars to spend. 2 American dollars makes 1 pound. Not worth it. Take a trip to Mexico. Maybe Cancun. You spend less money down there because of how it is set up. Plus a beach. Try searching on yahoo for a flight to Cancun. But if you still want to go to London I can't stop that.

For an all-out trip, at least 200.00 per day! Nothing is cheap there! I ate at BK and my value meal was about 18.00 US! But, it was the BEST BK I had ever had in my life! If you are looking to go cheaper, check out Rick Steves European Travels on DVD and book.
