Is Liverpool John Moores a good University?

I know it's not ranking in the top 10 and far from prestigious, but how good it is? Is it good academically/socially? Do people do well there in general? Do many people get 2.1 or Firsts, and have good prospects after graduating? I want to study in Liverpool, in either JMU or the University of Liverpool which is more prestigious, but I don't think I'll get good enough A-levels for UoL.

It depends what course you are interested in doing. I did a research placement at JMU and it was fun. Most of my friends went to/are at JMU and they love it. The average grades are 2:1's. It's a good university for the sciences and humanities. Not as good as U of L but good 2nd choice. I applied to U of L for September entry. But i decided to go to Reading Uni instead.

yep fairly good. It probably depends on what course you want - but some of it's courses - particularly the business orientated ones - are probably held in higher regard than the redbrick's
