Nice affordable areas to live in Cheshire.

Is Appleton Thorn Warrington a nice place to live?

  • What is it like? Is it a nice area? I'm looking at it to maybe live there as it is close to liverpool and manchester ( i love the cities as they have loads to do and great shopping! ) but i'm just wondering what warrrington is like? Is warrington mixed culturally ( i''m mixed race black caribbean and white british) ? Crime? So could a young woman live there with her child? Is Appleton thorn an area with schools, supermarkets, kids friendly parks etc, where in Appleton thorn is the nicest place to live, i can afford a 250-300,000 pound house. It would allow me to work in liverpool, manchester or cheshire so it seems like an ideal area. I have been told wythenshaw but it is close to manchester and i want something more in between both areas. Also Appleton Thorn do i have to take a Virgin train to manchester and liverpool or is there a local service? I don't understand the transport there? Thank you

  • Answer:

My sister lives near Appleton and she likes it. It is only small and but has a good community with a small school and village events. It is quaint but there is a prison nearby, but it is not for serious offenders I don't think. Warrington itself is great with a really good indoor shopping centre and industrial parks. I am unsure about the public transport though because I always find driving there easier.
