What is a safe area to live in and teach music privately near Liverpool city centre?
-
I am moving in with my cousin next year, she is going to LIPA and I hope to teach flute and piano at home for extra income. We need to be in or just outside the city centre but it is very hard to find places to rent that aren't appartments. Neither of us would mind living in an appartment but assume that I would not be allowed to teach piano in one for obvious reasons (disturbing the neighbours). If I am wrong about this someone please correct me and any comments about where in Liverpool parents would feel safe to take their children for piano (and flute) lessons would also be helpful. We are really struggling to find somewhere to live that fulfills all of our criteria! (Obviously we would want a safe area for our own benefit too, my uncle lives in a supposedly safe area of Liverpool and had his car stolen twice in as many months... I really don't want that to happen to me!)

Answer:
have you tried the area round by Liverpool marina - yes most are apartments but there are a few modern townhouses there - very safe area and convenient for the city centre. Aigburth/ Cressington/ Grassendale would be another good bet and the demographic there is likely to give you lots of students - city centre is only 10 mins away by train or bus Sorry about your uncles previous experience - contrarary to what the popular press and most of the rest of the country believe car crime is not as high in liverpool as people would have you believe - it certainly doesnt come in the worst 5 cities.

You can go in..... Wapping and Cains Brewery There can be no better place to start a fantasy pub crawl through Liverpool than the boozer which sits just a few yards from Cains brewery. - Dale Street and Tithebarn Street Pubs It would be impossible to embark on a comprehensive and wholly satisfactory pub crawl of Liverpool over a single night, so thanks the Lord for the cluster of excellent pubs within a few yards, on and just off Dale Street!

Hope Street. Near the Anglican cathedral, the Philharmonic concert hall. Expensive of course. Finding somewhere "safe" in Liverpool - it's all relative. There are areas that are safer than others, but those areas are still less safe than places out in the countryside.
