Is AFS like the Rotary?

HELP!!! ROTARY OR AFS?

  • ok so im studying abroad next year and we are almost all set up through AFS but then we found out ROTARY is way cheaper?? Idk is their a difference can anyone help?? PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Answer:

Both AFS and Rotary International are well known community based programmes. If you are almost all set up with AFS, you may just want to continue with them instead of starting again with Rotary International. A positive about the Rotary route is that there are brilliant scholarships available for study abroad students, so you may wish to apply for one to use with the AFS programme. You can find more information on it here: http://www.rotary.org/EN/STUDENTSANDYOUTH/EDUCATIONALPROGRAMS/Pages/ridefault.aspx I have found that study abroad programmes are fairly expensive no matter which agency/university you use. Therefore, I would just bite the bullet and do it, as long as you feel secure that the programme is tried and tested. As previously said, you should have no problems with either one, so it's up to you. I hope this helps! Enjoy your study abroad; there is nothing else like it!
