Why do people ridicule Scotland, mainly Glasgow?

Im from glasgow and when you say britain you probably mean English people right ? English people are always jealous because they are the highest country in gun and knife crime. They also have a cheek to talk about our accent have you heard the state of theirs !!! Scotland is very beautiful, we have the most wonderful landscapes in the world.

Well I live in Northern Ireland which is another part of the UK and no one thinks that here. Scotland and the Scottish people are very well thought of by us.

I'm English and I love Scotland! It's beautiful, the people can be really friendly but apparently the Scottish aren't fond of the English which is probably why they "ridicule" it.

Jealousy. In my experience anyone who's ever thought that way has changed their mind pretty quickly once they've been there.

Britain and Scotland are two countries but are the same country at the same time. Yes, its confusing. Anyway, English people and Scottish people are kind of different. And also, people from borders can be also different. Glasgow is a harsh place. You cannot expect people to change their accent for a start. You cannot also change their personality. I would say, just accept what you see. Things build up over time and Glasgow is a very old city. Start reading the history and maybe you may change your mind.

It is called a Union dividend and started in the year 1707. The British Unionists fear Scotland. They need to rubbish everything about it. It is a fact they would do away with Scotland and rename it North Britain if they could. It should be noted there are also Scottish-born British Unionists who will also rubbish Scotland. The Scottish Labour party for example constantly put Scotland down and do nothing for it. It's nothing more than a British Unionist front.

I'm from Glasgow. Although Glasgow has been said to be the friendliest city it's also the murder capital. I love Glasgow myself and to be honest I don't think its all that bad. I do see where the people who ridicule Glasgow are coming from, i mean we do get litter, fights, Gang fight, murders more than others.
