What to do in Edinburgh?

One day in Edinburgh..What to do and see?

  • Hi everybody..Well..I'll be in Dublin for a week, but I found some good sales on flight tickets from Dublin to Edinburgh..so, durning this week I thought it'd be cool to move on and see another city.. What do you think it would be better..? : 1)-Go to Edinburgh and spend at least a night there. 2)-Go to Edinburgh and come back the evening of the same day. Spending a night there means booking another hotel..I don't know.. ANYWAYS..once I'm there..WHAT ARE THE PLACES AND THINGS I CANNOT MISS??????.. THANKS..

  • Answer:

i went to edinburgh about a month ago went to the zoo which was pretty good lots to see stayed the night in a b&b then we went to this race track place where you can either race on your motor bike or watch others, you can race cars on a huge track and theres go-karts and stuff was really good, i think its best to stay the night though. theres usually loads of leaflets for things to see and do in the b&b's, hotels and at the zoo too :)

If you've never been to a city, everything is new. You just walk around and see and do what there is on offer. Why be worried in advance. I walked around Rome for four days, not a boring minute at all. Peace.

Option 1. and see the night-life instead of booking a hotel Five minutes ago I answered a guy saying there's no need to sleep at night in Edinburgh, then saw this Q....haha,..funny world. You certainly won't miss the castle. It looks down from it's priviledged seat high above the City and is well lit at night. There are tour buses all day, but just walking around will show you some great sights. The big tourist office is only a minute's walk from the rail station and has a lot of hand-outs and info. http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090719141747AA8VGhL&r=w#QcB4WTPtAzM.RIIlTUUbltk_YGK5ogJrypVK3VBzy_BifLe8eF.A . . My last trip I booked three nights in the Globetrotter and used the bed for one of them.... Some good suggestions from Big Aich on this too. if you're going at a busy time ...I'm guessing the 'amazing place' the questioner found wasn't the Globetrotter, which is out of town, but for a backpacker it's real good. There are some fine buildings in Edinburgh. http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjAGW3VfacqkNhzcIe_qxwpDMBV.;_ylv=3?qid=20090716183103AAf4GCe
