Easter in Edinburgh...will places be open?

Yes. Edinburgh is a large-ish city. Pubs, the main/chain/interesting shops and the main tourist attractions will be open, ie Edinburgh Castle -- I just checked online for you. The stuff that will be shut are perhaps small, family-owned businesses. Easter is a time when most businesses make their money from holidayers. Edinburgh is a holiday destination.

Bistro, Edinburgh is a massive city. Remember you're talking about the capital city of a country that has only 5 million people in it. So yeah it's massive to us locals. Yeah course Edinburgh will be open on easter sunday. People still have to make money and businesses still have to earn money.
