Ideas for a fun day out in Edinburgh/Glasgow?
-
My and my boyfriend want to save money, so instead of going on holiday we're going to go on a few days out this summer. Does anyone know anywhere good to go in Edinburgh or Glasgow? We're nineteen and like doing fun and immature stuff like theme parks and zoos and camping and stuff like that. We though about going on open top bus tours but as we've already visited each city a couple of times (actually we practically live in Glasgow) and are Scottish we're not sure if it'd be all that fun. ideas?

Answer:
Check the tides suit you, then get the 41 bus down to Cramond and walk out to Cramond Island. Decide if you want to turn around after an hour or so and walk back, or wait around for about 8 hours and let the tide come in whilst you go fishing, walking, barbecueing (whatever you want actually). I've camped out there overnight when I was younger but also done the two options above. All good fun, just you and the rats!

Pick up a copy of 50 Fun Things to Do in Edinburgh by Ed McCabe, Louise Kelly Portobello area has the nice boardwalk and beach area. Portobello is Edinburgh’s beach resort. It’s 5km from the city centre! Check out the Portobello Community’s website for the lastest information on events. My favourite thing about Portobello must be the well-stocked arts and craft shops http://porty.org.uk/home/ Dean Village is situated to the west of the city center. This village is steeped in history and offers countless scenic views. Take a stroll along the Water of Leith which flows through Dean Village. http://deanvillage.org/default.aspx

Edinburgh is the only zoo in Scotland . The PC brigade got rid of DANGEROUS elephant rides and degrading (to them) chimps' tea parties but they still have smelly onanistic monkeys and smelly penguins! Doing the Edinburgh tourist trail is fun too. Climb arthur's Seat. Glasgow. Well........I want to see the new transport museum! p.s. Is the Waverley sailing yet? Go to North Berwick and go round the Bass Rock, see the seals or go to South Queensferry and visit Inch Colm.
