Is weston super mare a good place to live?

  • My parents want to move closer to where my dad works in Bristol, and we looked at some houses in weston and there seem to be a lot in our price range. My mom thought it was a bit strange that the houses are so cheap near to sea. We were wondering is it's because of high crime rates? Could you tell me the best areas to live in Weston, and the areas to avoid? Thanks

    Like all towns/cities Weston has it's bad parts - avoid the Bournville Estate at all costs they will mug you as soon as look at you. A large proportion of the population is 60 years old and above, and that makes the house prices lower.

i love weston, i go there quite alot for days out and meals etc, as its not far from where i live (newport in south wales) just over the bridge about 40 mins drive or so, i wouldnt really say weston has bad areas, i mean i suppose everywhere has good and bad but most of weston is lovely. theres a nice little town, decent shops,few bars and restrants, not far from bristol too and of course bristol is loads better for shopping, plus not far from cardiff on a train, which has loads of shops. the new pier is opening in weston too soon, next month i think , so will be even better there, plus they always have t4 on the beach in weston, well for the past 4 years or so they have. always plenty of people about too, visiting or just walking by the sea etc. i couldnt tell u what areas are best, or bad but like i said most areas are nice, mabey look online on google see what the best areas and worst for crime etc. i think the houses are quite cheap near the sea because its not a city, its just a town, prob one of the reasons why. theres houses away from the sea aswell , more further on up. and yes it isnt far from bristol so would be easy to get too etc. brean and burham on sea aint far from weston either, x
