Why is it in a foreign language on the other side of Seventh Bridge in Bristol, London UK?

  • So I was in London UK on vacation and I hired a car and went out of the city and across something called the Seventh Bridge in Bristol, London UK Europe. On this side of the bridge, all of the signs were in a foreign language and not even Mexican. It had long words with few vowels. Mexicans came over our border and changed all the names to like Los Angeles and San Antonio. I think this is disgusting that people don't have the English language anymore on this side of the Seventh bridge in London UK Europe

    Firstly Bristol is not in London and it is a city in England. Over the Severn Bridge you go into Wales and in Wales they speak Welsh and that is why the signs are written both in Welsh and English. I know this because I live in Bristol and often go into Wales

O.K. First, Bristol is not in London it's in South Gloucestershire. Secondly, I'm going to suppose you mean the Severn Bridge In response to the different language, the Severn bridge connects England and Wales. Which, while both part of the United Kingdom are different countries, the other language is Welsh. The reason for both languages being used is due to the fact that while English is the most common language, many Welsh people speak Welsh. As a side note, why would they be in Spanish over here?

It is because the UK has several languages, English Welsh, Gaelic(Scottish), Scots, Ulster Scots Gaelic(Irish). It is because you went towards Wales they have signs in Welsh because there are many people in rural Wales whose first language is Welsh and English is their second language.
