Is the shopping in fiji any good?

Is Bristol a good place to go shopping, is it better for shopping than Cardiff?

  • I’m from Cardiff and I’ve been to Bristol many times over the years, but strangely I have never really been shopping in Bristol despite it being so near, or at least not for a very long time. I’m going there to stay with my mate who is from Bristol, and while I’m there I might check out the shops. I could use a nice new suit, some clothes; I like nice watches, and maybe I’ll get some early Christmas presents. I know from Wikipedia that the biggest shopping centre in Bristol is cobalt’s circus, and that it’s a lot smaller than new St David’s shopping centre in Cardiff. But Bristol is a bit bigger than Cardiff, so they probably have more and better shops, there just more spread out in other places I don’t know about. Is Bristol better for shopping than Cardiff? And where are the best places to go? And can you think of any good things to see and do in Bristol?

  • Answer:

Hi there, Right! Well the shopping in Bristol is amazing, and its not just limited to Cabot Circus, we also have Broadmead, Park Street and Clifton Village. Broadmead is more of a Mall type shopping area, Clifton is a lovely unique area of Bristol which has a lot of desginer shops and vintage shops and Park Street is a a street by the harbour filled with boutiques and cafe shops. With regards to what to do in Bristol check out this link and also the Visit Bristol website is amazing! http://www.cliftonhotels.com/what-s-on/attractions/ http://visitbristol.co.uk/ Enjoy!

I'm from Bristol and have been to both Cabot Circus and St Davids shopping centre in Cardiff. To be honest, they're basically the same... same shops and they're modern. The only difference I can think, is that Cabot Circus has Harvey Nichols from London. Me being from Bristol, I'd say the shopping centre in Bristol is nicer and it is next door to Broadmead (outdoor shopping area), and The Galleries shopping centre. If you count in all the outdoor shops, The Galleries shops, and Cabot Circus, I'd say it is bigger than Cardiff. There are lots of things you can do in Bristol like going to the newly opened Mshed museum, the harbourside where there are lots of restaurants and bars - it is a nice area just to sit alongside the water too, the Clifton Suspension Bridge, Cabot Tower (to see all the sights) and Park Street shops - a big hill just off the city centre with a lot of independent stores and a few usual stores. If you do come to Bristol, when you get off at Bristol Temple Meads, it's around a 10 minute walk to Cabot Circus/Broadmead, or you can get on a number 8/9 bus which stops just outside the station. If you would like to go elsewhere on the buses, it's best to get a day ticket for £4.
