Is Bristol a safe city?

Which is a better city for students? Bristol or Brighton?

• Which is a better city for students? Bristol or Brighton? Where would be a good place to live for a student with a middle class background? Obviously wouldn't have much money but do come from a reasonably good background. If anyone can think of another good city that would be helpful. I prefer the southern part of England rather than the north and not London as it is too expensive. This is for a story by the way. Thanks.

  About £7000 - if you foreign student the same course for a friend cost £3000 in Bristol and £10000 in Brighton. Brighton is a cool place to live but everything is so much cheaper in Bristol. I night out in Brighton is far safer than a night out in Bristol. London is not expensive as you think - if you prepared to live in house share then you will be ok and so many differnt courses on offer. Other Places worth considering Bath, Bournemouth , Southampton , Portsmouth . At present I live in Hove , part of Brighton and its quite a cosmopolitain place with a low crime rate and a nice place to live - but you always get what you pay for - thats the UK for you.
