Someone who's been to Alton Towers?

Alton Towers via public transport?

  • So basically, I'm looking to go to Alton Towers sometime soon. I don't drive and need to get there using public transport. However I have searched how and low and just can not find anything anywhere. I need to get from Birmingham to Alton Towers. Does anyone know where I can find information I need? Find prices and book tickets for the journey? Someone has told me virgin trains do a package which includes train tickets and admission into the park, however after going onto the website I can not find anything about this. Thanks for your help in advance.

There isn't a train station at Alton Towers. If you have a look at this link you can find the bus timetable from places like Leek, Nottingham and Stoke...maybe some more. Perhaps you could get to one of those places in time to catch the bus to Alton Towers. http://www.altontowers.com/download/Bus-timetables.pdf As an aside, I have two free admission tickets to Alton Towers which can be used when another full adult ticket is bought...these are being given away at Sainsbury's as "great day out vouchers". They are no good to me so if you want them you are welcome to them. Click on my user name and send me an email if you want them.

Ok I would get a train from birmingham new street to stoke-on-trent which takes 50 minutes. I would then get the number 14 bus from stoke-on-trent station to alton towers which takes 70 minutes. Do the reverse to get home! Hope that helps.

Train from Birmingham to either Stoke-on-Trent or Uttoxeter. The No 14 bus to Alton Towers leaves from outside Stoke train station. From outside Uttoxeter station either the 32A or the X30 will take you to Alton Towers.

Look on the bright side.

ok im sure west midlands travel do a service to alton towers, i know they do 1 to dyraton manor try their web site if not try the ticket office in town (under the rotunder)
