Where is the best area to live with a family Chester, UK?

What is the best area to live in Birmingham (UK) city centre?

  • I'll be moving to Birmingham very soon. I am a young professional and I come from Italy. My job location will be near Coleshill Parkway, but my idea is to live next to New street station and take a train every day. My budget is about 600/700. which area would be the best to live? Would you suggest the area north of the station ( temple str., corporation str...) or south of the station ( wharf area, commercial str., suffolk str, chinese district..)? Thank you for your help.

  • Answer:

Its all good round there as most properties are expensive, so keeps out most undesirables But if you move out of the area Ok areas Bearwood Sutton Coldfield Bourneville Solihull Edgbaston Harbourne Handsworth Wood Just stay away from Smethwick West Bromwich Handsworth Bearwood Sparkhill Newtown Aston Handswoth

I would suggest the North side of town Alternatively you may want to speak to someone based in Birmingham instead of London.

You won't like it within walking distance of New Street, it is not nice. The area around Digbeth Coach Station is not nice either. Since you'll be commuting from New Street, why not live along the train line down the line somewhere nice and get down to Birmingham by train in the morning and change trains there? Also, why commute from New Street? I don't understand your question. People usually ask about how to commute from the suburbs into the City Centre for work, not the other way around.
