Where to go in Europe?

I'm saving for a trip across europe. Where should I go and how can I make this inexpensive?

I'm off to college in the fall and my college costs are covered from financial aid and scholarships.I've gotten a few scholarships and I will be fully funded for everything as well as living expenses and travel tickets ect and have money left over. Doing really well in high school really pays off lol. I want to go to Europe sometime during college. I'm thinking my 3rd yr summer. I've looked at the schools travel programs and there not to my liking. I'm saving money now from working and from extra student aid money. I'm not an immature teenager who has no idea about how much things cost. I know money is hard to come by. I understand that and so I'm trying to plan this trip so I can go the cheap way but still hit all the amazing places. If I go there I need to stop by Northern Ireland area. I have a penpal that lives there. I'd also like to go to switzerland. I understand theres youth hostels and such things. Any advice? Any estimate costs? I've looked up plane tickeets and there so expensive! Any advice on getting a cheap flight over to europe?

  newsflash - it's a long way so it will cost a lot to get there. While there are cheaper parts of Europe, most of it will be as pricey as the US, and often more so. google your youth hostels for prices.
