What is the best university in the UK if you are from America?

Do you HAVE TO furnish the university with a transcript of your grades if your from America studying in the UK?

• If you've studied at 5 different colleges in the United states and you did kind of poor for a while before you got better study habits and you really don't even want to think about your past grades, are you required to furnish them to a university such as the university of Aberdeen like if your coming there to study with a student visa, what do you think? Your best guess? Kind of a vague question, but hopefully it makes some sence ? Basically when your looking to get accepted to a university in the UK, can you just start fresh and forget the grades you got before ? or whats the deal?   You do have to provide a transcript of your grades, and Scottish universities make their admissions decisions for international students the following way. The single most important factor in admissions decisions for foreign students is the students' performance in high school as reflected in their transcript. Most Scottish admissions officers ignore freshman and sophomore year grades; and recompute the applicant's GPA based on the applicant's performance in core academic subjects taken in junior and senior years. Generally, they do not require SAT or ACT test scores and weight heavily AP and IB test scores. They admit you to 4 year colleges. Unlike the British model, you won't need to pick an academic department to which you apply and you won't work your tail off to graduate in three years. As a result, relative to American admissions practices, American students with improving grades are at an advantage in Scotland. They also give little more time to apply. St. Andrews and the University of Edinburgh accept applications from American students until June 30 for that fall's first semester. This is an important advantage to students who have grades that are trending higher in their senior year; improved or just weak test scores; and had unpleasant surprises, including being wait-listed, in US college admissions. However the cost of study in Scottish and British universities for non-EU students is high as you have to pay full tuition fees and for your daily upkeep as you would do in the USA.
