How hard is it to get into Auburn University?

How hard is it to get into National University of Ireland, Galway? Is it a good university?

    It's an excellent university. It's one of the NUI colleges, so you won't have to worry ... it's equal to any of the Oxford and Cambridge colleges. Please don't insult us by asking us to compare a US 'university' with a European one. Seriously. To get into Irish universities, you need to apply to through the CAO, and here's the website: www.cao.ie. Look into it now, because the deadline for applications is in early spring.

It's a great university for anything like Arts, Law, Commerce and Engineering but for the likes of IT and Maths / Computing etc. it is not great. NUI Limerick is far better for IT and similar disciplines.

You can't really compare any Irish university to ones in America or to Oxford/cambridge, unless you go to trinity in Dublin. You're going to a good college, but it's just as good as the other ones we have there. We don't put our money in to creating ivy leagues schools like they do in America, it goes into all of them in a hopes to create easier access for prospective students and not to create an elitist academic environment. You will get a good degree from Galway, but just as good as Maynooth, Cork or Dublin.

General info about NII Galway here http://www.nuigalway.ie/about-us/, and yes, it is an excellent university, comparable with Oxford and Cambridge and with only the very top US universities. All Irish universities keep some places for overseas students. Irish students apply through the CAO, and places are awarded on the results of their Leaving Certs. At the moment university education is free to Irish students. Overseas students are paying students, and you apply as shown on this page http://www.nuigalway.ie/courses/how-to-apply/

it is a good college my friend goes there and she loves it! and it is as hard to get into as any other college...it is easyer to get into then UL tho and galway is a brill place to go to college so much fin and people are really nice up there too :) x
