Studying abroad at Trinity College Dublin next Spring: What do I need to know?

• I will be studying abroad at Trinity College Dublin next Spring (2012) and am curious if anyone has advice/insight on what life is like in Dublin for an American student. Are Americans received well? What is the weather like from January to May? What is the average cost of living? Any other tips/important things I should know about living there? For anyone attending Trinity: what are the courses like (English literature and science courses, more specifically)? I know the educational system is much different from the American, but I don't know many details. I don't expect all of these questions to be answered, but any help is appreciated! Thank you!

  Americans are fine sure half of america claim to be irish lol!! (btw don't go around saying "im irish 'cos my great great great great granddad 12 times removed was from kerry " it gets really annoying ) Weather in ireland all year is generally wet and miserable its sunny for like 2 weeks in either june or may and thats pretty much summer over in january its typically between 1-6 degrees Celsius and can be quite icy and recently we have been getting snow at that time also February is much the same and it starts to get a little bit warmer in march but by that I mean above the 10 degrees mark but you do have to remember that a hot day here can be as little as 13-14 degrees and for the one day the year it hits 20 degrees people struggle without a/c :P cost of living is on the trinity accommodation/foreign students webpage im not exactly sure where though sorry!! its pretty expensive though !! trinity is one of the best colleges in ireland nightlife in dublin is awesome plenty of student nights drinks promos etc. and the education system can be read all about here http://www.educationireland.ie/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=12&Itemid=16 this website might also be useful too http://www.icosirl.ie/eng
