How do you fill in a Dublin address into an online form?
-
Ok so i'm from the countryside and have grown up with no post code which has always been fine as just put in "None" or "N/A" into that section. But i've moved to Dublin for college and i'm having trouble filling in those forms now so i'd appreciate anyone's help? Basically my problem is this: Because Ireland doesn't officially have post codes and they only exist in Dublin am i still supposed to put "none" into that space? Or should i put 1, 5, 9 etc etc..... ?? Also i was adding my new address to my paypal account and was curious. The lines that are confusing me are: "City, Region and Post Code" I put in Dublin for City, Leinster for Region and 9 for PC but then it comes out like this: Dublin, Leinster, 9 ?? That looks so weird! Should i put Dublin 9 for city? So then it would be Dublin 9, Leinster, None?? Also on a different site it said to fill lines: "City & PC", Region, and PC? So is it right that i wrote "Dublin 9, Leinster, None" here too? I mean it looks right anyway? Sorry if this is a stupid question but i couldn't find an answer online so i thought i better ask as i wanted to send something to my new place! Also please i need an answer from people who know, specifically those who live in Dublin so if you don't know anything about the Irish postal system, please don't answer! Thanks! :)

Answer:
This is not a "stupid" question but one that if you had used the Discover section (top right of your screen) would have been answered without you needing to bother typing it. Hundreds of people ask every year what to do about the lack of postcodes in Ireland, both from a point of view of living here and posting parcels here etc. Just put xxx xxx for the postcode if it asks or EIRE usually works. I've had a Paypal account in Ireland for 7 years and my "city" is my town and my "region/state" I have as Co. Cork. To be honest as long as you have your name, street (I don't have a street), Dublin and the D9 somewhere in the address your post will get to you OK
