I have had no problem with sealed jars that are packed in your checked luggage. Don't take it in your carry-on.

NO! you should know what you are allow to take back into your country

I've never seen it at the markets in Turkey, but if you take a jar and put it in your suitcase, I don't think there will be problem; I think they do not allow things like, seeds, meat, fish, honey, dairy products... Have a look at the website below, it will help you... http://www.defra.gov.uk/planth/publicat/ifindoubt.pdf

Would you want to eat it after all of that - I'm sure they sell it in supermarkets in Turkey and America - Buy some when you get there!

NO1TOPICS

Make your own - from fresh chopped mint, vinegar and a bit of sugar to taste - far nicer than shop bought ones, and you don't have the risk of a jar breaking all over your clothes!

Lol, go and buy some you won't have a problem, pack it in your suitcase

Shizzle

You can pack it. If you put it in your carry-on, they will confiscate it, but if you put it in your check-in luggage, then it would not be a problem. :-)

Have a look at the department of agriculture - apparently they have a list take with/leave at home... I got my pistachios confiscated in Australia... work that out? oh and they were also going to give me a $200 fine for it! Although i can't think of any cross contamination reasons why you couldn't carry a jar of mint sauce? good luck
