Looking for Turkish Universities with English as their medium of instruction.?
-
I'm a foreign student in my last year of a 4 year undergrad dental programme (BDS). I'll be moving to Turkey next year, so I'm looking for dental schools that offer Masters programmes with english as the medium of instruction. So far the only one I've been able to find is Marmara University which, I think, teaches dentistry in english. Anyone with a definitive list of schools will be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Answer:
yeditepe and marmara universities have english dentistry only. as it seems even the school in cyprus have turkish dentistry. so you'll choose between those two, both very good, in top 3 of the country. lool then why in my university lecturers never speak in turkish, despite we ask them to do!!! they only explain in turkish in second time if the subject is really difficult. my school is not bilkent and bilgi. only 2 lecturers spoke turkish but they switched when foreigners came. i prefer education in turkish btw, i can understand the other students :/

These universities above not government universties and all they are heeled private universties in Turkey You could pay between 4000-12000$US depends on masters prg.
While I am not sure about dentistry (others gave you some good pointers) I have a little bit of a suggestion before you make up your decision. Try to contact some of the current/former students from your chosen university and verify whether the lectures are really given in English. Having both studied and lectured at a number of private universities in Turkey, where the official lecture language was English, I have noticed that very often lectures were given in Turkish language. When I studied at Bilkent University (Graphic Design dept, Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture), only the foreign instructors and one Turk lectured in officially designated English language. The rest (solid 80% of the courses) did not bother and communicated with students in Turkish, despite of foreign students being present in the class. I have raised the issue with the school's authorities - but in 4 years of undergrad studies nobody did anything to remedy it. The situation was virtually identical at Istanbul Bilgi University where I lectured for several years - so please beware.
