Is there a way to buy a movie on my iPad to watch without using WiFi?

I just bought an iPad 3, wifi only. I have Netflix, but I can only watch that when connected to wifi. My question is, when my kids are in the car, I would love it if there was a way that I could download or even buy movies onto my iPad that would work without wifi. Is there a way to do this? And if so, how?

If you get the movie on a computer then transfer it to your ipad then you wont have to use wifi. But their is no difference because either way you are still using downloads.
