I want to learn about Turkey.

Hey, i love turkey!!! i want to learn the language so that i can communicate with my buddy in turkey?

  • Is there a simple way? My buddy lives in turkey. We've been like best pals ever since we first met each other. I want to be able to communicate with him in turkish but i want to learn it a bit first so is there a simple way online to learn it?

  • Answer:

It is easy to learn it through internet. I am a teacher of Turkish and in my opinion the best sources are as follows: Lessons of Turkish grammar: 1. http://www.turkishlanguage.co.uk/turkgra%E2%80%A6 2. http://www.turkishfree.webs.com/ 3. http://totally-turkish.com/links.html 4. http://metu.edu.tr/~dpierce/Language/Tur%E2%80%A6 You know, it would be easier if you could print the grammar lessons and read them as a book instead of reading from the monitor. Practice of reading (which you must have together with the lessons of grammar): 1. http://www.turkishfree.webs.com/ 2. Books from FONO Publishing house (they can be found only in Turkey, but also purchased through the web - one of them costs about 3-4$ and consists of about 150 pages). They are written in different levels of the language and include the most interesting short stories I have ever read. Practice of listening after being learned the basics of the Turkish grammar: 1. http://www.mbirgin.com/?c=PodcastView&ID%E2%80%A6 After registering you can download from: 2. http://www.egitimyuvasi.com/forum/Dosyal%E2%80%A6 You can also listen choosing subjects from: 3. http://www.mbirgin.com/?Ctrl=Podcast For lessons in Turkish through video follow the link bellow: http://www.turkceogren.com/turkcedersler%E2%80%A6 (Online Türkçe Video Ders 1 means Online Turkish video lesson 1) Dictionaries: 1. seslisozluk.com 2. tureng.com 3. sozluk.net 4. turkishdictionary.net If you want to speak Turkish like a native speaker connect Turks through sites like livemocha.com/, polyglot-learn-language.com/, interpals.net/, penpalworld.com/, conversationexchange.com/, mylanguageexchange.com. There are many Turks who would like to be helped in learning English.

Turkish isnt really an easy language to learn, but then again what is, I have been learning for 3 years now and I still need help with a few things. There are lots of pages online, I used; http://www.turkishlanguage.co.uk (this one gives you homework) http://www.learningpracticalturkish.com I also bought Rosetta Stone 1,2 &3. The easiest way to learn a language is by speaking it with other Turkish people. My boyfriends mum taught me a lot quicker then any books or websites as I have to figure out what she was saying otherwise I could not communicate with her. So talk with your Turkish friend in Turkish and I would suggest putting in an hour a day if you can of studying time. If I haven't used Turkish for a while my Turkish always gets worse. So try and use it as much as you can.
