Has anyone ever been to Nova Scotia? Is it nice?

Has anyone ever gone to see the highest tides in the world at the Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia?

    I live near them in New Brunswick, just an hour away from the ocean! :) I would suggest heading to Moncton area if you want to hang out on sandy beaches (Parlee Beach!). Or Hopewell Rocks, it's just awesome if you're looking for great pictures! Fundy National Park for some great views of the ocean, as well as hiking trails, lakes and camping spots. (If you go there, make sure you head to Alma, a little fishing village nearby, and get Cinnamon buns at Kelly's Bakery! To die for! You can also get lobster there for really cheap!) Make sure you bring some warm clothes just in case. It's sometimes pretty windy by the ocean. Get a schedule of the tides so you know when you want to go. Hopewell Rocks for example is best when the tide is out. Also when the tide is out you can walk for quite a ways out, picking up shells and rocks and stuff. If you want to swim, make sure the tide is in.

There are several places to see the tides. Truro, Nova Scotia has the Tidal Bore Inn and Moncton, New Brunswick has the Tidal Bore Park located in downtown. Would suggest checking out tourism bureaus for several cities along the route to see the tidal changes. Of course, you can feel it when you travel across from the US to Nova Scotia via the ferry as well.

I used to live near them. Evangeline Beach and Cape Blomidon are good viewing areas. A fantastic hike at Cape Split for viewing them is reached by going to Scott's Bay, near Cape Blomidon.
