Where to buy winter clothing in Edmonton?

• I am a woman, who gets cold easily! Wheres a good place to buy winter clothing? Would snowboarding gear be as effective?

  I agree that any store like Zellers, The Bay, Sears, Walmart..etc, will have relatively good winter clothing. If however you want REALLY good winter clothing and you are more active outdoors than the average person, I would look at going to Mountain Equipment Coop. I buy my winter gear there (wind pants with a liner that fit OVER my cloths (and are easy to remove), good winter jacket that goes past my butt but also breathes well and has a hood, and winter hiking boots). I walk almost everywhere though so I really do invest in having good urban winter gear (if you do go there, tell them about your activity level and whether you plan on doing any wilderness winter activities). If you are active, I suggest being able to fit layers under your jacket so that as you warm up (as you walk, ski, skate..etc) you can take off a layer. I usually sweat when I walk, even when it's -45 with a windchill, so I need to be able to remove a layer or two as I go. It's worked well! Cheers!
