Do all All sized pool tables take the same pool balls?
-
i have a 7 foot 4 inches pool table. I got that detail when i bought my table. the pool balls that i got were preety cheap so the colour is now off. I am looking to buy new pool balls but i dont know if all pool tables take teh same sized pool balls. The balls that i got arent exactly like the other professional balls. For example. WHen i hit the cue ball on teh left the ball actually goes to left it doesnt spinn after touching the other ball. Now in pro matches when they hit teh ball on teh bottom of the ball it spinn backwards. BUt my my pool balls when u hit the bottom they jump. Now that isnt really my concern. My concern right now is Do all teh pool tables take teh same sized balls. Now while i was shopping i also saw minature balls. Now i dont know if my pool tables takes the reguler balls or the minature ones. Help out. And where can i find cheap cue sticks. Cause the cue stick were also cheap quality. i Live in toronto canada

Answer:
Balls are different sizes for different games (see link). UK-style balls are a little smaller than American-style balls. But the table for any particular game should use the same size balls, for example, all UK-style tables will take the same size balls. The UK tables have rounded pocket corners and the American tables have pointed pocket corners. If you're jumping when you're trying to spin the ball back, you're hitting too low. Aim a little higher, keep your cue stick level, and follow through nice, long, and smooth.

if you have a 7 foot by 3 1/2 foor pool table (not a snooker table) you need regulation 2 1/4 inch ball set. i recommend not getting swirled colered balls! they might look cool, but are no fun to play with. brothers wife got em, and they hate them, as well as i do. put your palm on the table and push. if the cloth bunches up, it needs to be restretched, which will give your table more action. to answer the rest of the question, all pool (not snooker) tables use 2 1/4th inch balls, unless it is a toy table. even a 3x6 foot table uses 2 1/4th inch balls. snooker tables use smaller balls.
