How can i make my pool table more responsive?

I have a BSE 2000 series 6ft table. How can i make the cushions more responsive, and the cloth run faster? I have already shaved the cloth, which has helped. Shall i stretch the cloth, and tighten the fabric around the cushions? -also, what can i use to level and stregnthen the ply-wood base?

You may want to consider replacing your cushions with Accu-Fast cushions. If your table cloth is worn or has a thick pile to it, you might consider replacing that too, with Simonis cloth --- it's the BEST and the "fastest" cloth on the market. Contact any Olhausen pool table dealer (they make accu-fast cushions for their tables). You can also try visiting or calling pool halls that use Olahusen tables, and get some information on how to obtain accu-fast rails, as well as finding a good piece of used Simonis pool table cloth at a cheaper price. Some pool halls discard their old table cloths that are still in pretty good shape. I don't know what part of the world or the country you live in. Regarding - strengthening your plywood base: If your table bed is made of plywood and NOT slate, there lies your problem. Plywood is just no substitute for a slate bed.
