Pool tournaments in Michigan. Is it legal to have a calcutta if so what are the rules?

Is there a limit to how much money you can have in the pot? If so how much? Does the state of michigan have these rules wrote some where if so where?

I played in a pool tournament in Watersmeet Mich, and the calcutta had to be done in a hotel room, and all gambling had to be done secretly, usually payed each other in the bathroom. That was at the casino.

I'm not sure if it is legal but alot of places have them in many states. I believe as long as 100% of it goes back to the players then it should be ok. I think the only problem you could have is if a gilted loser turns someone in and the cops look out for that stuff. Someone did that in Ohio at one bar so they had to quit but it didn't stop the other ones.
