How to shoot in pool...?

• I recently went out to a pool hall with some buddy's to shoot pool for the first time in a long time and I SUCKED! What's the best way to shoot the ball using your hand and lining the stick up and everything. Thank you for your advice!

  The best way to hold the cue is to take your thumb and first finger and make a circle. Then put the stick through that and it should slide over the rest of your hand. Or you can just squeeze your thumb against your first finger and that will create a V-like shape for the cue to rest in. When taking your shots, act like you are going to shoot the colored ball that you are aiming at directly with the cue. That will show you where on the ball you need to aim at. Also, you don't need to hit the balls very hard at all for them to go in. Finesse is better than power. Hope this helped. I have been shooting since age 9. I love the game. Enjoy!
