How do i do a backhandspring on a trampoline?

I have my backhandspring on the tumble track, trampoline, and spring floor. Am i ready to try it in the grass?

  • ...i know this might be a stupid question, but i dont know if im ready.

  • Answer:

You probably will be completely fine to do it. The only reason you wouldn't be able to do it is if you freak out. I'm sure you did it when you were learning or you have seen others do it. You like start to go back then your brain say "wait no way" and you kind of half jump onto your back or head. That happens when you are unsure. And the grass is not a great place of that to happen. You should keep it in the gym until you are completely confident. You could always have somebody spot you the first time you try on the grass just to give you that extra bit of confidence.

You'd probably want to do it on an actual floor first. When you meant spring floor, I really don't know if you mean one of those tumble rods which are extra bouncy or just a regular floor girls compete on. Whether or not, a regular floor also has springs, and the grass is still a hard surface. Probably depends how good they are, then yes, do it on the grass. I once did 5 in a row on the grass when I was in 2nd grade as a level 4 gymnast.
