I really want to do rhythmic gymnastics! I take ballet and im en pointe. Im flexible especial in my legs and back. I have been taking ballet for almost 1 year and about 3 months of pointe. Im really passionate about RG and i would stretch and stretch and practice everyday! please answer i know i wrote alot and that prob annoys you but that just shows how into RG i really am. also i dont know if this helps but im 5 foot 3 and about 93 pounds. I started ballet when i was 13 (last year, im 14 now) and i am so dedicated that i have caught up to the girls in my studio that are my age and now im level intermediate/advanced at the metropolitan ballet theater in maryland! I know i could do RG but i dont want to quit ballet and i was wondering if anyone thought that i could start RG classed over the summer when i will be taking a break from ballet but july 5th- july 23rd i will be doing the summer intensive there. and i was wondering if anyone knew of any RG summer camps because i think that would be a good way to start! and even if it dosnt work out for me with RG the extra flexibility will help me with ballet. In terms of my current flexibility i can do all 3 of my splits and i can do a good scorpian and i can do a basket stretch where you lay on your stomach and touch you toes to your head but i can make it go past my head. Im noot that good at things like back handsprings but i can do a front handspring on a trampoline but in RG i dont rlly think you do alot of that stuff. But i can do a front walk over and i can do a backbend stand up and i can almosst do a back walkover. And since i do ballet im good at alot of the turns nd jumps they do in RG. also im 5 foot 3 and about 93 pounds haha im not sure if that helps. pleasee answer. I know i wrote alot but that just shows how dedicated i am!

Answer:
hi there. the sample answer is yes absolutely. if you already take ballet and can go en point, have all 3 splits and some back flexibility now is really the time to start. however, i would say that u are maybe a little too heavy right now. most rgs tend to be 5k6" plus and weigh less than 90lbs. you really need a lithe skinny body to do the leaps - where you also demonstrate an oversplit sometimes as much as 270 degrees. it is required. however with the right diet and regime you could definitely beging to make rsg your top sport. it is a very rewarding sport and one which is sadly underrepresented in us and western europe i am a professional contortionist now but began by doing rsg seriously from the age of 5.
