Why don't they show taekwondo in the Olympics?

Is it too late for me to have a chance at the Olympics?

  • I've always loved TaeKwonDo and im good at it. And after seeing the opening ceremony today, all of a sudden i had a really strong feeling for wanting to be an olympian and participate in the olympics. Im 15 years old and even though ive always practiced taekwondo, i never seriously did it as a sport, and went on competitions and stuff.. And now I really want to do this professionally. I was wondering if im too late? dont these athletes start when theyre like 2 years old..? O.o cause like there are many 14-17 year old olympians already. is that the usual age these olympians start?

hahahaha, your going through a phase kid. snap out of it, unless you got lots of money for a trainer and tutor and a lot of time and determination. otherwise go play 'jet li' w/ your friends

1) Go to a personal trainer and ask for an evaluation. 2) Use this evalution to determine which sport matches you best physcially. You might think you are good at one sport but are really good at something else without knowing it. 3) Join the National Governing Body for that sport. 4) Join a local club to train and learn how to play the sport. 5) Get funding to travel to tournaments for training. This can be sponsorships, living at an Olympic training center, scholarships, family funding, etc. 6) Get private lessons, might even need to get them from Olympians. 7) Get into national and international tournaments. 8) Walk into Olympic Stadium

I don't think that it is too late to have a chance at the Olympics. However, you will need to ask the Olympic Committee for your country and the Olympic committee for where the Olympics will be hosted to see if you can still enter for the Olympics.
