How do you get on the Olympic soccer team?

• ok so i swim and i get how swimmers get on the olympic team because it is more of an individual sport. but how do other sports get on the olympic team. like soccer or water polo. since its a team sport how does it work?

  Well for hockey, i know that a lot of scouting is done to figure out who the better players are and when they determine who they want to tryout, the national team for your country brings all the players to a camp and they select and cut players until they have a roster!
