How does one Become Selected to Run the Olympic Torch!?

Hi everyone out there! When I was younger I had this dream that some day I would be an Olympic Athlete but that didn't happen. And it’s still my biggest dream to one day run the Olympic Torch. I love the whole Idea of the Olympic Games and the Torch and their meaning. And I want to be one of the few selected people every 2 years that get to run the Olympic Torch. I’ve looked every where to find out how to become a torch runner but I can’t find out how. One day my brother told me about Yahoo Answers so I though I would give it a try. So if anyone out there knows how I can become an Olympic Torch runner please let me know what I have to do. Thank you!

I'm not too sure, but a lot of the time they give it to the actual athletes or well known people, sometimes it is given to disabled people. I'm not sure what you could do, maybe speak to the council that runs an area where the torch will be run through?
