Why are the female figure skaters so pretty?

I'm mean seriously I just recently watched the American figure skater a couple of hours ago and she was beautiful. Same thing just recently the Ukraine female figure skater was gorgeous, and so was the Japanese figure skater for Russia. Why are usually the female figure skaters so pretty? I mean for me non of them are ugly or anything like that.

They are certainly not ugly without their make-up. It really is true that there are very beautiful women skaters. None who would be called ugly.

Makeup definitely helps. And plus, figure skating is a very 'beauty' orientated sport, so I'm sure they take extra care of themselves as well.

The ugly ones were weeded out in earlier rounds. Talent is essential, but looks gives a competitor an edge. This IS a judged sport, after all.
