How can I be in the olympics for snowboarding?

What is the math involved in figuring out the scores of luge and snowboarding in the winter olympics?

  • I'm doing a project on the olympics and I can't find the answer to this anywhere. It's driving me crazy! Please help : ) Thanks!

  • Answer:

Luge is simply times. How fast you go down the course, cumulative over 4 runs. Some snowboarding is the same, although in that case it's who crosses the line first, since snowboard events are side by side or 4 men at once (snow cross). In the halfpipe, it's a different matter, all about the tricks the person does, each of which is scored by a group of judges, added together with Degree of difficulty. Much more subjective. As in many judged sports, the highest and lowest judge's score are not counted (to prevent (limit) favoritism) go to www.vanoc.com, and select the sport, and you can see the scores or times for each event for each athlete.
