How to stop my horse from bucking?
-
i have a 9 yo stockhorse he has been a good quiet horse until about a year ago. as soon as he is saddled and the saddle is tight i will walk him around abit and he will tense up and start rearing and bucking and when i ask him to settle down he will relax the i will walk him around a few more times before getting on him. when i am on him he will go around nicely then i will feel him tense up and i know he is goin to buck i try to prevent this by turning him or bringing his head i close to him but he fights this to streatch his neck out and buck.. he will constantly buck rear and carry on until i am off then runs of with a few more bucks then settles down (if he doesnt go through a fence). i have tried to figure out whats causing this and i know its not his tack everything is in good condition and fits him well its also the same gear i have used on him since the day i got him (and the only saddle he will let me use on him).. i know it is not his back or any other part of him. i did come off last august and wasnt able to get bak on him for about 3 months which i lost alot of confidence. when i was better i put the nervousness behind me and got back on.. he continued to carry on. i know he is a good horse and would love to go back to riding, jumping and eventing on him but we have one little issue with the bucking .

Answer:
if you got a new girth of a diffrent style or material like leather to cord it could be pinching or pulling the hair,or any skin dissease in the area,or try not setting the girth to close to elbows,or after you get the saddle on stretch the front legs to loosen the skin around the elbows, and or try mounting steps so your not steping up in the iron and rotating the saddle.also there may be a pinched nerve if so you will need the experience of a diagnostic vetranarian.

this sounds like an extremely dangerous situation. "the only saddle he will let me put on him" is a sign you are not the boss. you need a professional trainer, not a riding instructor, a trainer to come out and help you. you may break your neck if you dont. seriously. we dont know all, some know more, some know less and some just know other things we can not encountered yet.
