What to wear while horseback riding?

What to wear horseback riding when you don't have a lot of money?

  • im going to be starting horseback riding soon. I understand you need to have boots,helmet,a t-shirt or polo shirt, and riding pants but i don't have a lot of that. I only have a helmet and short boots. I don't have a lot of money so i can't afford to get new things. What should I wear? and for the shirts i don't have like anything that's good for riding ty

    Hi Keeks, You already have the most essential things. But as for pants, you can wear jeans. And certainly you can wear a t-shirt. Do not wear shorts, but other than that, almost anything will do for lessons. The helmet and boots are the biggest things. You should be fine. Good luck

When I ride I wear a regular t shirt, jeans, cowboy boots and sometimes a helmet, not need to buy anything fancy! As long as you have shoes/boots with a heel!

It doesn't really matter, you don't need any fancy clothes.. especially since you're a beginner. You really only need "fancy" clothes for showing. If you're taking lessons.. all you really need to wear in the summer is a t-shirt, jeans, and riding boots (make sure they have a heel). Most stables will have a helmet for you to wear during lessons, but it doesn't hurt to get you're own. They may also require you to wear a body protector: but I would just see when you get there. They will tell you what you need: the first day is pretty much just learning what you need to bring, and what's expected of you. Have Fun!(:

i asked a question similar to this. For shoes;wear sneakers like converse (high tops if you have them) or western boots. for pants; you don't ever want to wear shorts, wear comfy lose jeans or sweat pants. (never wear legging or shorts) and for a shirt; anything will do something comfy, and something you don't care if it gets dirty or stained.
