What to wear while horseback riding?

What do Muslim women wear when they go horseback riding?

  • I'm just wondering what they would wear because they're very modest and when you go horseback riding you usually wear pretty tight clothing. Would they also have to wear their headscarf?

    My friend is muslim, and recently we did go horse back riding. She still wore her headscarf along with a helmet ontop, and she wore a loose fitting pants (it was like one of those pants that looked like a skirt but really are split) that ended about upto her ankles and she wore long socks; for shoes just black leather athletic ones.

hmmm, this sounds like a good question :) see the thing is there are so many such sports out there, some of which require you to dress in a certain way, often in ways which muslim women cant adopt: swimming, sprinting, but tht shldnt stop her frm enjoyin such sports .... so muslim sisters and designers have come up with ways to alter their dressing to suit their needs yet be able to partake in these activities... as for horseback riding... i suppose she could go with jeans and a lose fit top. her scarf could be of a light material like cotton tied well so there are no lose ends.... if she is a regular scarf wearer , she will most probably wear it, horse back riding or not, but if she isn't, then she probably wouldn't. there are also special swim wear for Muslim women with scarfs sewn on to them :) being a muslim myself i hv tried horse riding briefly in India b4 while on vacation, i was dressed in the shalwaar kameez (lose trousers with a long blouse like top) with my scarf ... :) wish i cld upload the pic :P u can also search for islamic sports wear for more images :D
