How can I find out about local races?

How do i find out in advanced when stakes races for horse racing takes place?

  • I no there are some pretty big horses races coming up this weekend and they are televised is there a site i can go to so i can look at the field in advanced and find out what station is going to be on. I want to try to pick the winners on the races finding this info in advanced i can really look at the history of each horse.

    I struggled with the same questions earlier this spring...if you don't have HRTV or TVG or some other horse racing channel you are pretty much scr***d. Usually NBC and/or Versus will broadcast the biggest races, The Travers will be on NBC at 5:00 eastern time on Saturday. You can go to horseracingnation.com and click on Stakes Tracker and get the probable entries for most upcoming stakes races, and also search for each individual horse. You can also watch replays of stakes races there. You can also go to drf.com and bloodhorse.com for entry information. You may be able to watch some races live online but I haven't tried that yet. One of threads has this link for Travers information: http://static.drf.com/PDFs/2011-travers-stakes-pps.pdf . I haven't really been able to find one source for everything that i want to know...probably someone else here can tell you (and me) where to look... Note: If you don't have a horse racing channel you can go to HRTV.com and subscribe to it for $9.99/month and watch it live on your computer.

Hi Sammi amith! Go to NTRA.Com ( National Thoroughbred Racing Association) Click on (Racing) and then Click ( Race Pages & Schedule)You will get the Stakes Schedule from now to the rest of theYear This includes, Distance, Track , Age , TV Channel, Time and Purse. I hope this Helps.
