What to wear while horseback riding?

What shoes should I wear horseback riding?

  • I'm a 16 year old girl. I'm going horseback riding in wisconsin with my boyfriend this weekend, just for fun! I haven't in a couple years, but I'm sure itll come back to me quickly! I was wondering what shoes to wear. I'd REAAALLLY like to wear cowboy boots, bun unfortunately i don't have any. I do however have some tall black uggs.... would those work if i'm not doing any serious riding? I also have other tall black boots, that are fashion boots... could those work? I'd rather not wear ugly tennis shoes if possible.... what else would look cute? Should i wear a p-coat? scarf? it's going to be chilly. Thanks!

    I would recommend the tall black boots, really any boots with a heel. Just remember not to wear anything with laces, or anything that might catch on the stirrups. As for the clothes, you can wear jeans or leggings, and any shirt. (Long sleeve its cold in Wisconsin! :D) Have fun when riding and remember to stay safe! :)

its really important to get the outfit right. everyone knows how horses can treat the unfashionable rider. everything is going fine, next thing you know the horse stops suddenly, throws you, then steps on your back breaking it and paralyzing you. id say you need to go buy some jodhpurs,paddock boots and a helmet.
