What kind/brand of skis are the best to get?

  • This fall the ski resort I ski at has a Ski/Snowboard Swap where you buy and sell used skis. I want to know what are the best brand/kind to get?

    there is no best brand. It depends on the type of skiing you do, your personal preferences and your ability. More important I think is the binding. A bad binding or a poorly mounted binding can wreck a season first time out. I once bought a pair of skiis, best I could afford and great bindings, the bindings were mounted incorrectly. I ended up with a torn meniscus on the 2nd run of the season. Luckily I got my money back on the season pass.

I agree with djgriffiny. Also, there are a lot of skis out there designed for women. Look for those--they tend to be softer and easier to flex, important for smaller people. I would also add that boots are important. You can have the best skis for your type of skiing in the world, but if your boots don't fit, you might as well just strap boards to your feet.

There is no best ski. I skiied dynastar and now i am on atomic. It all has to do with your ski style and size.
