What are some famous contemporary Chinese variety/game shows?

How is Kate Middleton a better role model than people who get famous through TV shows?

  • People who go on shows like X factor, Big Brother. People who are famous but have no talent- like Cheryl Cole, Kerry Katona, Kardashians- are constantly criticised for their LACK OF TALENT and considered TERRIBLE role models because they are famous just for being famous. Well how is Kate Middleton any better that she is considered a better role model? Her claim to fame is marriage- not any kind of talent or hard work. No one would know her name today had she not married into the Royal Family. Are you saying that you want your daughters to marry a famous person to earn their position in society as well?

  • Answer:

There are certain qualities called manners, education, style.People who are discrete,well-educated,well-mannered and understand that style is not only how you choose to dress, but also how you live your life.A person,no matter if that person is famous or not,is a better role model than any celebrity if they follow the basic credo that quality before quantity, noble struggle before mere achievement, honor before opulence is the essential self. Catherine Middleton is well-mannered,well-dressed,well-educated… is living her life, not trying to be famous, not trying to impress, just trying to live the best life that she can. Lily Allen has worked hard, but her lack of education is a mark against her;she is not able to speak intelligibly. If one can not communicate properly,it is hard to be considered a role-model because communication is paramount. She also has made some questionable choices in life--the arrest record is not the mark of a role model.

To meet William she had to have parents rich enough to send her to St Andrews,

Well for starters, the people who go on such tv shows just for fame and with no talent are brainless - kate middelton was studying at a high educative university which shows she's very intelligent, not only very beautiful. She also seems a very lovely and friendly person unlike celebrities who critisize one another (e.g. Lily Allen). Kate also seems to be a very classy type of person! Let's just face it - she's a role model for the British public! :)

She's not. And the people you mention aren't such great role models. Good role models include people like: Diane Sawyer Barbara Walters Marie Curie Sally Ride Donna Rissone John Fogarty (not the singer) George Rivera Mary Keeling People who have worked HARD and bucked the system to become famous, successful, or merely good people. There are MANY people you haven't heard of who make better role models than any of the people you mention. THOSE people aren't MEANT to be role models...they are ENTERTAINMENT. That's not about being a role model.

Are you saying you need to be talented to be a role model? Kate is a role model because she has morals unlike the majority of celebrities. Probably no one would know her if she didn't meet William. But who knows, she may have become successful and famous through a talent. Most people who are famous through TV are fame hungry, they went out to get fame. They are solely interested in money and fame, that's why they aren't good role models. And I don't think Kate is like that, fame came to her. She didn't marry for the purpose to earn her position in society, unlike celebrities. I think most parents would want their daughters to have standards and morals like Kate, thats what makes her a role model. Even if Kate wasn't famous, if you met her, you would want your daughter to be like her.

No name.

Catherine has sacrificed her life in marrying the man she loves - no more privacy, always at others beck and call - often doing three visits a day and always having to be available for the people. Royal life always looks so great from the outside but believe you me the loss of personal liberty is a very high price to pay.

Well it depends what you are role modelling them for. If you want a female role model for someone with talent then you would choose Adele or the like. Then your completely right. If its a role model for fashion or how to be well mannered and educated then I would say Kate is brilliant because I would like my daughter to dress like she does (appropriately) have a university degree. The reason she is a different to other well mannered, well dressed and well educated women is she is in the public eye. Just because she is a role model for these areas does not mean other women are not. In fact many of the women I know are all these things.

Kate is now member of Royal Family, that makes her it, people don't know her more than that she has not asked for it, she is not a model or actress. she was living a normal life & then this was her destiny. You can see how an ordinary girl become Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge. this can motivate people. thats Role Model.

Well people who go on talent shows are only in it for the money so at least the royals have no agenda.

I think its more the way she acts and behaves that is a better role model for young girls than say any of the people you have mentioned. There is no getting her bits out to be photographed, slagging other people off because that gets her noticed, or doing a silly TV show that puts your children on prime time TV just for the cash. At the moment that seems like the best thing in the world to do for some young girls because Kerry Katona or Jordan has done it. Kate has shown what a bit of decorum and modesty is, which I don't think has been shown before. Anyone not seen flashing their bits or falling down drunk has been branded boring or whatever. Now people, and by that I mean the media, are portraying someone with those qualities as "good." It is quite a difficult situation, because on the one hand I do agree with you, if it were any other young lady who'd just got married and had given up, potentially her entire life and dreams because of said marriage, and is not doing what she trained and studied to do because of her husband, I would think she was mad. I, myself, am not sure I could do that. But on the other hand this isn't an every day situation. She has married the heir to the throne, and somethings are just not possible due to her safety and the costs of protecting her. Do I think as a taxpayer should pay out fortunes and fortunes just so she can have a job and be normal, vs doing what she is doing (or going to do) which is basically charity work. AND There isn't anything wrong with doing charity work, and her presence would be an asset to any opening or fund-raising or what ever. So its not like she is just sitting on her bum and or spending Williams money. If she is being productive, regardless of whether she is being paid a salary for it, that's surely a plus isn't it. I mean a LOT of women, A LOT of spouses live off just one partners salary don't they. Finally if I ever had a daughter, I think Id prefer her to want to marry a Prince (like Kate) than become a topless model (like Jordon). If that were the only two options available!
