Will HM the Queen don evening gown or knee-length frock for this occasion?

  • Will HM the Queen don a flowing evening gown with tiara to ring in the Diamond Jubilee year this New Year's Eve or will she don a suitable knee-length frock? Her attire will certainly need to be extraordinary as she rings a special New Year's Diamond Jubilee bell at midnight and stands on the palace balcony as cannons are fired and bonfires lit across the nation to begin the glorious Diamond Jubilee year? Have her frock makers, cobblers, and milliners been busy designing the New Year's ensemble as the world waits with bated breath to begin the year of global Diamond Jubilee celebration? I feel the excitement building as the likes of Sydney harbour's ships, Paris' Eiffel Tower, the bells of Berlin, the lights of the Kremlin, and the electricity of New York's Time Square will all erupt in loving adulation for HM and her Diamond Jubilee as the clock ticks over from 2011 to the Diamond Jubilee. Surely, HM will be showcased live around the world in all these venues on large telly screens. HM's ladies in waiting of the wardrobe must be frantic with work and worry that HM be regaled in glory as evidenced in the ensemble she dons on this upcoming historic New Year's Eve. I, for one, hope she will be donning a flowing evening gown with Queen Mary's tiara (perhaps with a long silver veil attached to the tiara flowing backward and down HM's back to the bottom of her gown -- as I have always thought this would appear so amazingly regal). Even more awe-inspiring would be for HM to process on foot from the palace at the stroke of midnight down the Mall as her gown and flowing silver veil are blown in the midnight breeze as millions cheer along the pavements. I can see HRH Prince Philip holding her hand aloft as they together process down the Mall as the world falls silent in reverence to the glory of HM, as those on the pavements bow and curtsey as the royal party moves past.

Ere now, what you on about? HM the Queen has already stated that she will call it the RHINESTONE Jubilee out of respect for the economic crisis and will dress accordingly. She will wear one of the dresses she wore on past occasions, with a few rhinestones glued on by one of her ladies-in-waiting. Donations of rhinestones are currently being accepted on behalf of the queen by yours truly, her event coordinator.

"Frock"? Do you think the queen wears "frocks"???? Women over the age of 20 no longer wear "frocks". In fact, women haven't worn "frocks" since she was about 20. I'm sure she will dress appropriate to each event involved in the occasion.
