Which royalty is the most impressive?

In which countries do kings, queens, and other royalty directly impact people?

  • My boy asked me in which countries kings and queens actually make decisions that affect people. I think they do not in the UK. Maybe in some Scandinavian countries. Saudi Arabia, yes. Any others you can think of?

    mainly the monarchies in Asia and the Middle East. Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and United Arab Emirates are rules by Monarchs with political power. The Thai Monarchy has pretty significant political power, at least when compared to other constitutional monarchies like Japan and the UK. The Scandinavian Monarchies have no political power at all, and only serve as a symbol of each nation's history - they're a figurehead only. Europe has no powerful monarchies except Liechtenstein, which is run by a Prince, but at the same time, his power is limited by the constitution. The Vatican City can be thought of like that too, I guess - the Pope is the head of state and the church makes all decisions.
