Why was Princess Diana having a relationship with a heart surgeon from Pakistan before she had one with Dodi?

    His name was Hasnat Khan, and he is a Pakistani. So there was no reason for him to know Dodi, an expat Egyptian. The romance was stopped by his mother, who said her boy was going to marry a nice Pathan girl chosen by herself, not some dyed blonde English divorcee. Like a good Pakistani son, he dropped Diana on her say-so, and went home and married the girl she had picked out for him. As he had ditched Diana and not the other way round (she adored him and wanted to marry him) , he had no reason to be jealous of her new relationship, especially as she never seems to have been that serious about Dodi - she was prepared to holiday on his yacht and accept expensive jewellery from him, but not to marry him.
