What would happen if the succession law were to be applied retroactively?

  • How would this affect Princess Alexandra, and the children of Princess Anne, etc?

  • Answer:

Charles, William and Harry retain their places. Anne, Peter and Zara go up the line. Andrew and girls would follow.Edward and Lady Louise, then Viscount Severn would follow. Princess Alexandra and children would displace the children of Prince Michael of Kent, who removed himself from the line.

It wouldn't affect the first three places in the line of succession as Charles is older than his sister and he only has two sons. It wouldn't affect Peter and Zara either as it would only be their proximity to the throne that would change, it's still highly unlikely that they would ever inherit the throne.
